Mustang in 1995

Once I was in Houston and began to work on the Mustang a bit the issues definatly started coming to light...

From the get-go in Houston the car started to have mechanical issues. In all fairness many of these issues were nothing more then long ignored maintenance catching up. After all, if you don't pay attention to a lady she will let you know *wink*

Mechanical Issues

Deciding that it was definatly time to put some TLC into the car (and to register it in the state of TX), work was done on the brakes, engine, etc to get it all in tip top shape. A couple of side notes here:

With a renewed vigor, and a freshly registerd vehicle, I was set to spruce up other parts of the mustang. Door Prep

First up was the passenger's side door. Over a few winters the rust monster had started under the door handle and it was time to tackle it head on!

Granted, I didn't know a whole lot about body work, or paint, or prep, but hey, it's just a little rust right? Door Prep

Feeling vindicated and with an 'Ok' cover up of the rust I declared victory and drank the celebratory beer. Unfortunatly, the rust monster loves to tease, and had only shown a bit of itself to me. Less then a week later I was closing the door of the mustang and noticed that some brown stuff fell when the car shifted. Thinking that this was a bit odd I looked under the car and noticed several areas that were sheding this brown stuff. Much to my horror, this shedding was chunks of my floor! A few beers later, and after some deep soul-searching of sell or restore, my wife-to-be convinced me to restore. Her parents were more then happy to allow me to do whatever work was required to save the car...as long as it stayed moble. I don't know if they quite knew what was coming up for the car yet :)
